Biograpphy of Dave Umahi

Dave Umahi is currently the governor of Ebonyi state, he was Born on January 1, 1964. He is the son of Elder Joseph Umahi Nwaze and Margette Umahi of Umunaga. Dave.

He obtained his First Leaving School Certificate with Distinction from Umunaga Primary School, Uburu in 1977. He attended Ishiagu High School before moving to Government Secondary School of Afikpo, where he obtained his SSCE.

He graduated from Enugu State University of Science and Technology in 1987. with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.

He is the co-founder of  Norman Engineering and Construction Nig. Limited which he co-founded with Ombo Isokarari, serving as its general manager until 1993.

He was once the chairman and CEO of Brass Engineering & Construction Nig. Ltd., Focus Investment Nig. Ltd., and Osborn La Palm Royal Resort Ltd.

Umahi entered public service in 2007 as the acting chairman of the Ebonyi State chapter of the People's Democratic Party.From 2009 to 2011, he served as state chairman of the party. During that term, he served a year on the governing board of the Federal Medical Centre in Asaba as its chairman.

In 2011, He became deputy governor of Ebonyi State on a ticket with Martin Elechi.

On April 11, 2015, Engr. Dave Umahi contested for and won election as the governor of Ebonyi State, though the election was challenged by the Labour Party, All Progressives Congress and All Progressives Grand Alliance on the basis of "widespread irregularities, killings, and wanton destruction of property".

In October 2015, the legitimacy of the election was upheld by the Governorship Election Tribunal

In the year 2011, Dave teamed-up with Chief Martin Martin Elechi, as running mate, and they contested for the position of the governor of Ebonyi State. Dave Umahi became the Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State following their success in the gubernatorial election of Ebonyi State and was sworn in on 29th May 2011 for a term of four years ending in 2015.

On April 11, 2015, Engr. Dave Umahi contested for and won election as the governor of Ebonyi State.


He is is married to Rachel Umahi and they have seven children. 

Biography of Abiola Ajimobi

Abiola Ajimobi is the current Governor of Oyo state, he was born on 16 December 1949 to the Ajimobi of Ibadan at Oja'ba, Ibadan.

His grandfather was Sobaloju of Ibadan Land (a chief in the royal court of Ibadan). His uncle, Hon. N.A. Ajimobi was minister of works and transport in the Western Region. His father, Pa Ajimobi, was also an Honourable member of the House of Assembly in the Old Western region.
 
He attended Saint Patricks Primary School, Oke-Padre in Ibadan, but later moved to Ibadan City Council Primary School, Aperin, where he obtained his Primary School education. He thereafter moved to Lagelu Grammar School for his secondary education.

He moved to United States of America where he studied Business Administration and Finance at the State University New York, in Buffalo, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree.

He got his MBA in Operations Research and Marketing with a concentration in Finance at the Governor’s State University, Park Forest, Illinois.

He was engaged in Buffalo, New York as a state certified underwriter, by Equitable Life Assurance Corporation, which was then the 2nd largest Insurance Company in America.

He was formerly the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the National Oil and Chemical Marketing Company a goodsubsidiary of Shell Petroleum

In 2003 he became a Senator of the Republic of Nigeria. He was a principal officer in the Senate, serving as the Deputy Minority leader of the Senate.


In 2007 he contested the gubernatorial election under the umbrella of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) but lost the election bid. He contested again in 2011 under the All Progressive Congress and was elected in a keenly contested election.

As the incumbent, he contested for a second term in an election that took place on April 11 2015. He contested under the All Progressive Congress for a second.
