Biography of Henry Seriake Dickson

enry Seriake Dickson is the current governor of Delta statem he was born on 28th day of January, 1966 in Toru-Orua Town of Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, Nigeria to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Nanaye Dickson of Orua and a descendant of the famous King Kpadia Royal House of Tarakiri Kingdom.

He attended Kolobiriowei Primary School, Toru-Orua from 1972 to 1978 where he got his First School Leaving Certificate and proceeded to Government Secondary School, Toru-Ebeni in 1978 to 1983 and obtained his West African School Certificate (WASC/GCE).

In 1988 He gained admission into Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt to read Law from where he graduated with LL.B (HONS) in 1992.

He then proceeded in 1993, to earn his Bachelors in Law (B.L HONS) from the Nigeria Law School, Lagos whereupon he was called to the Nigerian Bar the same year.

He became a Cadet Assistant Superintended of Police in 1994 but he voluntarily withdrew his service after close to a decade as a Police Officer to practice the profession of law.

 As a Lawyer, he worked with SERENA DAVID DOKUBO & CO holding the position of Associate Solicitor from 1994 to 1995 and moved to ALUKO & OYEBODE, a prominent Law firm in Lagos also as an Associate Solicitor in 1995 to 1996 after which he founded the Law firm of SERIAKE DICKSON & CO in Port Harcourt and later Yenagoa and became its Managing Solicitor from 1996 to 2006.

He was elected to the National Assembly's House of Representatives in 2007. In April 2011, he was elected for a second term; this election was the first time that someone in his constituency has done this.

Dickson assumed his role as Governor of Bayelsa State on 14 February 2012. The Independent National Electoral Commission reported that Henry Dickson won over 90% of the votes.

Shortly after taking over gubernatorial duties, Dickson said that he was "painfully transiting to the executive arm of government." He went on to say that he might, in fact, return to the National Assembly someday.

He is happily married with children and holds the traditional title of OLOKODAU of ORUA.

Biography of Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar

Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar is the current Governor of Bauchi state, he was born to the family of Galadiman Bauchi, Late Alhaji Abdullahi Abubakar (ACP rtd), on 11th December 1956 in Gombe. 

He attended Jos Native Authority Primary School from 1963 to 1968 and proceeded to Tudun Wada Primary School Kano in 1969. He then gained admission into Government College Kano (Rumfa College) for his Secondary School education from1970 to 1974.

He was among the first set of students of School of Basic Studies of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria in 1974.
From 1975 to 1978 Barrister Muhammad A. Abubakar studied at the Faculty of law, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria for a degree in law.He was at the Nigerian Law School Lagos from 1978 to 1979 for his BL course. From 1979-1980 he lectured at Rivers State College of Science and Technology (presently University of Science and Technology Rivers State) as his youth service primary assignment.

On completion of his youth service, he joined the service of Bauchi State civil service as a Pupil State Counsel in the Ministry of Justice, Bauchi State and rose through the ranks to the position of Senior Parliamentary Counsel and Head of Legal Drafting Department of Bauchi State House of Assembly in 1983.

After the 1983 military intervention, he was deployed back to the Ministry of Justice as Senior State Counsel. In 1984 he was promoted to the rank of Principal State Counsel and was seconded to Yankari Games Reserve and Tourism Company Limited as the Secretary/ Legal Adviser. 

He was deployed back to the Ministry of Justice in 1986 as a Principal State Counsel and Acting Director Civil Litigations and in 1988 he was promoted to the position of Director of Public Prosecution. 

His charismatic quality, intelligence and trust worthiness made him to be appointed Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Bauchi state between 1990 to 1991before the handing over to civilian regime. However, the civilian government reappointed him as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Bauchi state from 1991 to 1993. When the military intervened again he went into private practice as Managing Partner of Fortuna Chambers.

Muhammad A. Abubakar, Esq. became the Chairman of Nigerian Bar Association, Bauchi State Branch from 1996 to 1998 and was elected Deputy National Secretary of the Democratic People's Party in 1997.

He was appointed Resident Electoral Commissioner and served in Kogi, Delta, Plateau and Rivers States up to 2003 and then promoted as National Electoral Commissioner at INEC Headquarter in charge of Legal Services and supervisor of Borno, Jigawa, and Yobe states.

Barrister Muhammed A Abubakar retired as INEC National Electoral Commissioner in 2008. and went back to legal practice as Managing Partner of M A Abubakar & Co. (Fortuna Chambers) This great Chamber has offices in Abuja, Port Harcourt and Bauchi.

In June 2013 M. A. Abubakar, Esq. was appointed a member of National Judicial Council, NJC
Barrister Abubakar is already blessed with a wife and five children.

Barrister Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar is the elected Governor of Bauchi State, Nigeria on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in April 11th, 2015
